It starts with YOU! The foundation and basis of Harrington4Mayor revolves around the people of the community. There should be no other way. 

Nothing is more important to me than ensuring our residents feel safe, feel security in the future and feel heard. We will always have an infrastructure to take care of. There will always be plans for growth. There will always be a need to re-evaluate decisions, but none of that will make a difference without the community behind it. The people are the heart of the city and it is time for YOU to be heard.

Rarely is there a decision on infrastructure or development that has to be decided immediately, and when those rare occasions occur I will work TOGETHER with the city leadership and DISCUSS the issues, gathering facts and make decisions based on how I believe I can best serve the community.

I am absolutely in favor of bringing more to the city that will attract families and revenue opportunities but there has to be a balance. I will not hide behind statements like "It's what is best" or "look what it will do for the community", I will take the time to explain my reasoning for the decision I am making.

I will work to make changes to our Community Redevelopment Agency, to ensure that there is a balance on the board. I will work to ensure that the same City Council is not that of the CRA, maintaining an uneven balance to the CRA to ensure that when development plans are presented there can be a TRUE vote, after a presentation, AFTER hearing from the public on their concerns and thoughts and after having ALL the questions answered.

I will work with our local police department to develop new plans for safer neighborhoods. We will develop a system that takes immediate action for missing children and at-risk adults. We will work to establish community watch programs throughout the city so families and seniors can feel safe in their own homes. I will work to develop neighbor helping neighbor programs to make sure that every citizen feels like part of a community, not like a lone individual that the world forgot. 

I will work to bring our communities together. Each area giving something back to the city as a whole while remembering that we are ONE Port St. Lucie. I will work with our city council to ensure that we are taking care of our businesses. Providing a plan for opportunities to grow, while maintaining affordability to and from them to best serve our community.

We will have stronger action plans to prepare for natural disasters. I will establish relationships with county and state leadership to ensure that in the event of an emergency, Port St. Lucie is thought of first and our residents receive the necessary supplies and basic needs are met as soon as humanly possible. 

We will build a stronger community together. Listening to one another, making sure that every person feels heard and making sure to remind the city leadership that we DO work for YOU, reminding city leaders that throughout the year we may need to take a step back and re-establish the goal of our positions, to make Port Saint Lucie the best place to live for ALL the citizens. 

I will work with leaders to maintain a balance throughout the city, ensuring that every area is developed to give the very best to our people and providing opportunity for better entertainment, better activities, safer places to gather and providing jobs for a continued support to the city and the people. 

I believe it is time to remove the politics from the city and start fresh with someone who has felt the impact of decisions made by our leaders. It is time to put a REAL PERSON in office who does NOT have an AGENDA, but has a desire and a vision to make Port Saint Lucie a place FOR the people.
